The Louisville Science Center is hosting a temporary exhibition featuring vintage hats from its permanent collection. The two-part exhibit, Hats! The exhibition features two successive displays of more than 50 unique hats that have been refurbished by hat designer Gabriel Amar of Frank Olive Hats in New York.

So, even though Queen Elizabeth’s real birthday is on April 21, we’re celebrating her – and other English Kings and Queens – at this month’s SECOND SATURDAY. All SECOND SATURDAY activities are included with admission for all museum visitors. As always, museum admission is FREE for all Kids Club members (and it’s free to join)! The park will be offering free Mammoth Cave Discovery Tours. Gates open at 9:30 am and close at 3:00 pm. Tickets are required and may be picked up for free at the ticket office. The Mammoth Cave Discovery Tour gives participants the opportunity to visit the Rotunda, one of the largest rooms in the cave, explore a vast canyon passageway, learn about prehistoric Native American explorers and view artifacts they left behind, see 19th century saltpeter mining operations, and discover the geologic origins of Mammoth Cave on this self-guiding tour. Rangers are on hand to give short talks and answer questions at major stops along the route.
The tour takes a minimum of 30 minutes. The route is ½ mile long and includes a hillside trail and 60 plus stairs outside the cave entrance, but an easy walk inside the cave. Total stairs: 160. Elevation change: 160’.

This mystery started with a BANG! It took place in Cactus Kentucky this afternoon shortly before Bubba’s body was found slumped over his desk. Participants need to interrogate all the suspects about the evidence left at the scene of the crime, Bubba’s Wine Bar & Grill. The investigation is underway but the evidence doesn’t add up. Although the case may be cold now, there are some steamy clues from the suspects and some real interesting personalities along the Wine Trail as well as some great KY wines.
Now, shake off those dusty flea bitten boots and jeans of yurs, then come as ye are, take a bath if you need one, drag a comb through yur hair and get ready for a day of hip slappin, yeehaw grinning fun. Dusty will be on the karaoke singing his latest hits and crooning the gals, so say howdy when ya see him.

What: The Art of the Book
This special day is devoted to “all things book” — paper making, paper marbling, printing, and book-binding. Attendees will choose one subject for the morning session and one for the afternoon — with demonstrations and hands-on experiences in each session. All materials needed for the workshops will be included in the cost of the workshops. Related book arts materials, supplies, and books will be available for purchase for those who would like to continue creating their own papers and books.
Because of the hands-on nature of these workshops, attendance must be limited. Attendees may also pre-order a box lunch featuring chicken or tuna salad sandwiches, side item, drink and dessert.

What: Summer Antique Market
This annual Antiques Market features professional dealers from the South and Midwest displaying their wares on the lawn at Historic Locust Grove. In addition to American country antiques, the show features formal furniture, books, textiles, jewelry, and silver. Concessions are available. Proceeds support the continued operation and preservation of Locust Grove.
