Enjoy a fun and educational scavenger hunt that will introduce you to some of the Zoo’s proud papas.

    Pugpalooza is an annual gathering of Pug people and their dogs for fun and a good cause, but this fundraising event isn't just limited to pugs. All breeds of dogs and their human friends are invited to attend. Activities include a lot of doggie socialization, costume contests, pug races, raffles, food, vendors, and more! This event offers something for people of all ages and families are invited to attend with or without their beloved family pets.

    With its tilted axis and long daylight hours, the summer solstice marks an important day for planet Earth. Kids and their families will investigate the scientific wonders of summer through the On-Your-Own Challenge, available in the Visitor Center from 9:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m., and Discovery Stations, available at the Visitor Center from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

    Come and see how the Frontier was won right here at the birth place of Kentucky. Kentucky’s first permanent settlement was started on June 16th 1774 right here in Harrodsburg. Of course they called it Harrodstown for the first few years and constructed the sturdy fort on the hill in 1775. This event is a 18th century re-enactment and is our signature event of the year. Presentations, settlers, Natives, sutlers and battles will take place for two short days in the warm June sun just like it did nearly 240 years ago.
