In 1900 Sweden, middle-aged Fredrik Egerman brings his 18 year-old bride Anne to a play starring his former mistress, Desiree Armfeldt. Soon Frederik and Desiree resume their romance, incurring the wrath of her current lover, a pompous Count.
    The situation culminates in a weekend at Desiree's mother's country estate. In attendance are Frederik, Anne, and Henrik, Frederik's son (who is hopelessly in love with Anne), Desiree's illegitimate daughter, The Count and his wife, Charlotte who appear uninvited and the Egerman's lusty maid, Petra. As Madame Armfedlt explains to her granddaughter, the summer night "smiles" three times: first on the young, second on fools, and third on the old.

    The Cave Hill Heritage Foundation proudly announces the 2011 series of tours of its historic and beautiful grounds. All of our tours this year are cost-friendly, making a tour of Kentucky’s premier cemetery an affordable option for the entire family to enjoy.
    J. Michael Higgs, Cave Hill Heritage Foundation Coordinator, and Steve Wiser, AIA, will lead the twilight tours of cemetery. A two-hour journey through the meandering roadways of the entire cemetery will reveal information about the history of the cemetery, its residents, and the works of art presented through the monuments. Cemetery topography, botanical highlights, and connections between the cemetery and state, local and national history will also be discussed.

    What: "Faces of Cancer" Photo Exhibit - Last day!
    A project created by the Kentucky Cancer Program (KCP) in 2009, is a photographic tribute to cancer survivors. The "Faces of Cancer" photo exhibit is being unveiled all over Western Kentucky this year. Local photographers donated time, talent and materials for the project. Photos in the exhibit are accompanied by each survivor's inspirational story.
    Cancer prevention, screening and treatment information will be available during the exhibit's duration including KCP Survivor Tool Kits, containing information helpful to the newly diagnosed.

    Muhammad Ali's celebrity status is recognized and celebrated across the globe. It has even been said that Ali is the most photographed individual in the world. Beginning on May 4th, visitors to the Ali Center will have the opportunity to view select photos of The Champ captured alongside other celebrities, in a new exhibit called ALIWOOD. In addition to the signed photos donated by Park West Gallery, this exhibit will also feature multimedia and celebrity quotes about Muhammad Ali.

    What: "Faces of Cancer" Photo Exhibit - opening night!
    A project created by the Kentucky Cancer Program (KCP) in 2009, is a photographic tribute to cancer survivors. The "Faces of Cancer" photo exhibit is being unveiled all over Western Kentucky this year. Local photographers donated time, talent and materials for the project. Photos in the exhibit are accompanied by each survivor's inspirational story.
    Cancer prevention, screening and treatment information will be available during the exhibit's duration including KCP Survivor Tool Kits, containing information helpful to the newly diagnosed.

    A project created by the Kentucky Cancer Program (KCP) in 2009, is a photographic tribute to cancer survivors. The "Faces of Cancer" photo exhibit is being unveiled all over Western Kentucky this year. Local photographers donated time, talent and materials for the project. Photos in the exhibit are accompanied by each survivor's inspirational story.

    What: The City Mouse and the Country Mouse - Musical
    This new musical is an updated version of the classic Aesop fable. Sally mouse likes life in the country but her cousin Roxy likes the city life. When they try to adapt to each other’s lifestyle misadventures abound. In the end both Sally and Roxy learn to accept and even appreciate each other's differences. The play presents the timeless message of learning to love ourselves and each other for who we are. Reccommended for ages 4+

    What: Walking tour - Waterfront Heritage Walks with Historian Rick Bell
    This tour will explore the history of Louisville’s riverfront and the development of today’s acclaimed Waterfront Park. Bell will describe the riverfront’s importance to the growth of Louisville from its founding during the American Revolution, through its glory days during the Steamboat Era, to its renaissance as one of the world’s most successful maritime recreational parks.
    The total walking distance from your car, through the tour, and back to your car is approximately 2 miles.
    Butler Books recently published Bell's book, Louisville's Waterfront Park - A Riverfront Renaissance. Walkers will have an opportunity to purchase the book by paying for it at the Belle of Louisville and then collecting it at the end of the tour and having it signed by the author.
    Suggestion: Wear your comfortable walking shoes and bring drinking water and sunscreen.
