    Lace up your running shoes an come on out to Rough River Dam State Park for the Magnolia 5K run/walk! Race begins at 8:00am (CDT). This is the final race of the Kentucky State Parks Race Series, and the final awards ceremony will follow this race. You can register for all four races or just the race of your choice.     What: Summer Braille Workshop for Kids
    Be inspired by the story of Louis Braille, who was only twelve years old when he began work on the writing system that changed the lives of blind people all over the world. Learn the basics of Louis's alphabet and practice writing on a braille slate and a braillewriter. Advanced students will learn more about braille contractions and whole word signs, as well as how to write music and do math with braille. Admission is free, but registration is required. Call 899-2213 to register. Children in grades 1-3 must be accompanied by an adult.

    Interactive History "Museum"! Carnival Rides! Fireworks! Old Fashioned Games! Civil War Re-enactors! Six Guns Entertainment! Auction! Pageant! Prizes! And much, much more!
    A carnival with rides, games and food will be at the park on the river. A Sunday Best beauty contest for children will be held on Thursday at 6 pm (registration begins at 4:30pm and goes until 5:30 pm). A museum will be opened to the public to display many artifacts, photographs, and a short film. Friday we'll have Old Fashioned Games, a Pet Parade and an auction. Fort Duffield will provide re-enactors throughout the festival. Gix Guns Entertainment will also put on a show Saturday, July 9th at 1pm and 3pm!
    Saturday at 9 am will be a walk/run/roll put on by the West Point Baptist Church. Call the church for more details.
    Saturday evening we close out the festival with fireworks!
    Moe Bear and the Full Throttle will perform both Friday and Saturday nights. Come out ready to dance the nights away!!!
