    Trees have long provided people with physical and spiritual gifts. Kids and their families will have fun using tree treasures to make their own ornament through the On Your Own Challenge and then exploring hands-on Discovery Stations during the afternoon. ECO Kids Discovery Days provide kids and families with opportunities to play outside, breathe fresh air, and learn about nature. Discovery Days take place the first and third Saturday of each month at Bernheim’s Visitor Center.
    When: On Your Own Challenge, available in the Visitor Center from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Discovery Stations are at the Visitor Center from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

    What: Cacheing for "Clause" - Geo-cacheing Event
    This is the last geo-caching event of the year and you will be recruited by Santa himself to help locate the gifts that fell off the sleigh while Santa was trying to avoid the bridge traffic! The 'gifts' will be located alll around the park, see how many you can find. Once you have found all that you can, you will return to the Activities Building to be entered into a drawing for a gift of your own! Each cache gets you one entry in the drawing. Sign in will be at the Activities Building

    Santa is making a special stop at the Louisville Zoo and he’s bringing a bunch of his North Pole friends along too. Join the holiday cheer with Frosty the Snowman, as he leads children of all ages in a Christmas carol sing-a-long.
    Be a part of Santa’s workshop where elves help families create a wonderful holiday craft. And of course, no visit would be complete without Mrs. Claus serving her famously delicious milk and cookies (and hot chocolate or coffee too for the grown-ups.) A complementary photo with Santa will be provided to each child.

This magical exhibit has been created by master model builder Bob Irmscher with support from some of the most talented model train enthusiasts in the region.
