  "The Eye of Napoléon" examines Napoléon Bonaparte’s extraordinary influence on the creative arts.   Recycling is much more than sorting paper and cans! Pollywogs will add creative fun to the recycling process by making instruments, building with boxes, bowling with recyclables, and more. . Pollywog Play Parties combine music, art, language, and outside play to encourage children, 5 and under, to learn about nature. Each play party includes a song and story circle, outdoor exploration, and a variety of art projects, science investigations, role playing challenges, and opportunities for free play.

Sonny Sitgraves (drums), James Watkins (bass), Billy Bird (vocals and harmonica) and Pen Bogert (guitar) have been playing together for more than 10 years. It gives attendees a detailed look at exhibit items and the history they represent in The Filson’s exhibit “United We Stand – Divided We Fall: The Civil War in Kentucky and the Ohio Valley.” The third session in this series, “A Soldier’s Life,” will examine the lives of Union and Confederate soldiers. Topics will include camp life, battles, life in the military, and the importance of music both as a soldier and in family life. While much of the 5 hour guided driving tour will take place from the warmth and comfort of a passenger van, there will be oppportunities to stop and explore special places and delightful surprises. Both golden and bald eagles are occasional winter visitors to Bernheim. Early spring can provide a cacophony of breeding frogs calling from Bernheim’s “backyard” wetlands.
