What are your plans for tomorrow? We are going to visit the 4th of July celebration on the waterfront and catch a baseball game! Bring your mitt!

  • Where: Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest Visitor Center
    What: ECO KIDS DISCOVERY DAY - ON YOUR OWN CHALLENGE: Crypto Animal Safari; 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Pick up activity sheet in the Visitor Center. DISCOVERY STATIONS: 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. FOCUS ACTIVITY: Ingenious Nature Disguises. The on-your-own challenge is to hunt for crypto animals along a Bernheim trail. Pick up your challenge sheet in the Visitor center between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Discovery Stations will be in the Visitor Center between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m.

    Fee: Free members; Free non-members with $5 per car admission; donations accepted


  • Where: C. Douglas Ramey Amphitheater, Central Park
    What: Shakespeare in the Park – Twelfth Night – This 45 min. adaptation uses puppets, music, audience participation and, of course, Shakespeare’s language! The perfect way to introduce Shakespeare to anyone ages 5 – 105!

  • Where: Speed Art Museum
    What: Discovery Case in the Galleries - Hands-on English Panel Room - Explore our galleries and try your hand at finding mythological creatures!
    Time: 1 to 3p
    Fee: Admission is free.


  • Where: Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest Visitor Center
    What: Snakes: True Tales and Tall Tales - Few creatures are as misunderstood as snakes. Join us for an interactive opportunity to unlearn common mistakes about snakes. We will focus on snakes of Kentucky and southern Indiana. Great fun for the whole family! Join us, and then stick around for ECO Kids activities.
    Time: 1PM - 2PM
    Fee: $5 for members, $7.50 for non-members; advance registration is required


  • Where: Wax Recreation Shelter, MAMMOTH CAVE, KY 42259
    What: Music Across Nolin - United Christian will perform contemporary Christian music from 5:00 - 7:00 pm and fireworks will be a dark. From 6:00 - 10:00 pm a cornhole tournament will be ongoing and concessions will be available.
    Time: 5:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M.
    Fee: unknown – I think free, but not sure


  • Where: Waterfront - Great Lawn, Festival Plaza & Harbor Lawn
    What: Waterfront Independence Festival - Waterfront Indy Fest is Louisville’s premier July 4th celebration. The two-day festival is the largest event of the summer and also produced by Waterfront Development Corporation. Over 150,000 people attend the event each year, which features concerts by national recording artists, children’s activities, a festival food & beer garden and fireworks over the Ohio River both nights. www.waterfrontindependencefestival.com
