Come aboard and explore centuries of pirate legends and lore with new exhibition

On May 15, the Frazier International History Museum opens its own original exhibition, “Pirates: Treasure Treachery,” a thrilling interactive exhibit that offers an unparalleled look at life under the infamous black flag.

What: Meet and Greet Diego from Nickelodeon's Go Diego, Go! - Special guest Diego from the popular children’s show Go, Diego, Go! will be hosting a special meet and greet opportunity in the Zoo Vision building. Diego is an 8-year-old Latino action-adventure hero with a heart. His goal is to save and protect the animals and their environment. Athletic and fearless, he is always at the ready no matter what the situation. Diego loves learning new things. He takes a scientific approach to problem solving and also uses a variety of high-tech gadgets and gizmos to save the day. Be sure to bring your cameras!

FOCUS ACTIVITY: Prairie Power. The ECO in Bernheim's ECO Kids program stands for Every Child Outdoors. Each ECO Kids Saturday provides kids and families with opportunities to get outside for play, fresh air and to learn about nature. On Saturday, August 7, the ECO Kids focus activity is “Prairie Power”. The on-your-own challenge is to investigate the Bernheim Big Prairie and check off sightings on a discovery log. Pick up your challenge sheet in the Visitor Center between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Discovery Stations will be in the Visitor Center between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m

What: Historic Downtown Costumed Walking Tour - You will take a leisurely stroll back in time as you are guided through the downtown to meet prominent figures in American history such as P.T. You will also be introduced to some not-so-famous; although some may call them infamous, local characters that have some very interesting stories to share.
