What: Writer in Residence Reading: Jennifer Percy
Join Bernheim’s Writer in Residence, Jennifer Percy, for a reading of her work in the Visitor Center. An informal reception will follow the reading. Jennifer Percy is the author of the nonfiction book DEMON CAMP (Scribner) which was a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers Pick and the New York Times Notable Book of 2014. Percy graduated from Middlebury College with a BA in English and Environmental Studies and two MFA’s from the University of Iowa in fiction and nonfiction. She writes for the New York Times, Harper’s, The Oxford American, and The New Republic. She teaches creative writing at New York University. Bernheim, Sarabande Books and The Baltic Writing Residency sponsor the Writer in Residence Program at Bernheim. The program seeks to connect people with nature through poetry and literature.

Bernheim’s Full “Flower” Moon Hike provides ample opportunities to marvel at the moon, be awed by the night sky and sounds of the night. In the light of this full moon it is said that flowers grow at night and dance in the moon’s honor. Exploring Bernheim at night provides opportunities to observe and celebrate such seasonal and nocturnal changes. Dress for the weather. No pets allowed.
