Tuesday, March 15
  • Where: Main Library in Etown
    What: Come join us at the Main Library in Elizabethtown as Ms. Marsha shares some of the 50 Best Books to Read in Kindergarten with our K Kids in this after school special. Enjoy the stories, discussion, and activities that are designed for each book on our list. *Registration is required. Please call 270-769-6337 for more information.
    When: Every Tuesday from 3:30-4:00 p.m. For kindergarten students only.

Thursday, March 17
  • Where: Main Library in Etown
    What: Toddler Time! Calling all toddlers to the Hardin County Public Library! Every Thursday during the school year, Ms. Marsha will host a drop-in storytime for children ages 2-3. The classes will begin at 11:00 a.m. and last until noon. No registration is necessary! Please call 270-769-6337 for more information.

Saturday, March 19
  • Where: Debow Recreational Complex
    What: KiteFest - The 2nd Annual KiteFest. Fun for all ages. Bring your own kite.
    There will be prizes for the:
    Oldest Flyer
    Youngest Flyer
    Pre-Registration Winner
    Pre-register for a chance to win a kite valued at over $100.00.

  • Where: Bernheim visitor center
    What: ECO Kids Discovery Days: Welcome Back, Spring!
    Bernheim’s Every Child Outside (ECO Kids) Initiative makes being outside fun, adventurous, challenging, and full of exploration.
    Kickoff the season by discovering the many different ways Mother Nature awakens during spring. Kids and their families will conduct a springtime investigation through the On-Your-Own Challenge, available in the Visitor Center from 9:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m., and Discovery Stations, available at the Visitor Center from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
    When: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
    Fee: FREE (Non-members regular $5 weekend environmental impact fee applies)

  • Where: Main Library - Etown
    What: Special Saturday Story Hour will now have Story Hour on Saturdays for children ages 2-4. No registration is necessary for this drop-in program

  • Where: Main Library - Etown
    What: Free Digital Downloads - Come take a look at the latest—we’ll have a Nook and an iPad for you to see and we’ll show you how you can download books—free with your library card—to these and other digital devices.

Tuesday, March 22
  • Where: Frazier International History Museum
    What: Join the Frazier International History Museum, Louisville Water Company and EDGE OUTREACH for a special World Water Day celebration. This free event is to help raise awareness and understanding about the importance of clean drinking water around the world.
    Visitors to The Frazier on World Water Day will have the opportunity to:
    • Tour the “Water Works” exhibit and learn the fascinating history of Louisville’s drinking water
    • Experience how women and children in developing countries carry water with heavy buckets and a large ball
    • Learn how an innovation that rolls on the ground can improve the health of a city
    • See the discovery Louisville Water made that provided clean water for the world
    • Experiment with cloth and two-liter bottles to see how people in other countries adapt to make drinking water
    As part of the event, Louisville Water Company representatives and local EDGE OUTREACH volunteers will share “Water Stories” and discuss their experiences and the impact of a lack of safe drinking water around the world.

    What: Rough River Lake Canoe Trip!

    What: Secretariat - Big Red's Journey to the Silver Screen
    The Kentucky Derby Museum will celebrate the history, the triumphs, and the people behind the horse in a new feature exhibit showcasing famed racehorse, Secretariat. Secretariat: Big Red’s Journey to the Silver Screen opens at the Derby Museum on Thursday, September 23, 2010. The exhibit features exclusive behind the scenes footage filmed on-set during the making of the movie and provided to the Derby Museum by Walt Disney Pictures. Visitors will enjoy the movie trailers in addition to inside interviews with many of the actors in the film.
