  What: Venus Transit of the Sun
  Meet us at the front of the Interpretive Center for a program we can't offer again for another 105 years! Venus will pass between the Sun and the Earth and appear as a silhouette. This observation event is a partnership with the Louisville Astronomical Society and the Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium. Telescopes with safe solar filters will be on hand to observe this rare astronomical event.
  When: 6:00 p.m. - sunset

  Let the toilet paper fly! Join us for Captain Underpants crafts and games to kick off summer reading! Ages 0- 12.

  What: McAlpine Lock Cruise
  Both the historic steamboat Belle of Louisville and riverboat Spirit of Jefferson will be taking cruises through McAlpine Lock this season. It's a event you won't want to miss! There's just something intriguing about going through a lock from the river's point of view, and being on one of our boats is a perfect way to experience it. The ending time is flexible, as lock traffic is always unpredictable. A delicious buffet is available with an advance reservation. Sightseeing only is outside seating.
  When: 6 PM
  Fee: Spirit tickets with dinner buffet: $45 adults, $44 seniors, $29 children. Spirit sightseeing only (no buffet): $24 adults and seniors, $15 children. Belle tickets with lunch buffet: $37 adults, $36 seniors, $27 children. Belle sightseeing only (no buffet): $26 adults and seniors, $17 children.
